Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
Kaytos, LLC (“Kaytos”, “we”, “us”) operates Taste Training, the Taste Training Mac app and taste.training (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices you have. Taste Training is currently available by invitation only.
1. The short version
- By default, your library stays on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded unless you turn on sync for a library.
- We do not sell your information, show you ads, or use your library to train a general-purpose AI model.
- Synced content is encrypted in transit and stored privately, but it is not end-to-end encrypted: the Service can read it in order to provide it.
2. The Mac app and your library
The Mac app keeps your screenshots, notes, projects and generated taste skill on your Mac. When you ask the app to read a clip, the image and the relevant notes are sent to the AI model provider you chose (currently Anthropic or OpenAI), using your own API key. That provider’s terms, retention and account settings apply to that request, and you pay that provider directly. API keys you enter are kept in the macOS Keychain, not in your library or in any synced file.
A coding agent that reads the taste skill installed on your Mac may send that text to its own provider under that agent’s settings.
3. Information we receive
- Account information. Your email address, to send sign-in links, identify your account and reply to you.
- Sign-in and device information. Session records, device names and connection dates, so you can stay signed in and remove a Mac. We store only hashes of secret session tokens.
- Library content you choose to sync. If you turn on sync for a library, its completed clips, notes, tags, page context, projects and generated profiles, with their change history, so we can store them and deliver them to your approved Macs. API keys, local search indexes and project folder paths are never synced.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider processes IP addresses and connection details to deliver and protect the Service. Our own rate-limit records store hashed identifiers and counters, not raw IP addresses.
- Messages. What you send us when you ask for an invite, support or a privacy request.
Screenshots and free-text notes can contain private details, including other people’s information. Review a library before you turn on sync.
4. How we use information
We use information only to provide and secure the Service: to sign you in, sync your library between your Macs, prevent abuse, respond to you, and meet legal obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the Service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping it secure, and your consent where we ask for it.
We use only the cookies needed for sign-in. The website has no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics.
5. Who else processes information
Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website and provides email delivery, the database and private file storage. Authorized Kaytos personnel can access information when needed to operate, support and protect the Service. We do not make your library public or share it with other users. We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to address fraud, abuse or a security incident.
A future hosted mode may read clips with AI providers chosen by us instead of your own key. It is not available today. Before it is, we will name those providers and ask for your choice.
6. Retention and deletion
Sign-in links and unapproved device requests expire after one hour, and sessions after thirty days. Expired sign-in records and rate-limit counters are removed hourly. Account information is kept while your account exists.
Synced files and their change history are kept while sync is on. Removing a clip removes it from your other Macs; older stored copies are not yet erased automatically. To delete your account and its synced content, email us and we will confirm what was removed. Disconnecting a Mac or turning sync off does not delete the copies on your Mac or in the cloud. You control your local files and any backups made by other software.
7. Your choices and rights
You can stay fully local, turn sync off, remove a Mac from your account, and keep your library files. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to its use, and to complain to a data-protection authority. To make a request, email us from the address on your account so we can verify it is you.
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in other countries.
8. Security
We use encryption in transit, private storage, hashed session tokens and rate limits. No service is perfectly secure. Do not put passwords, API keys or information you are not allowed to share into a clip or a note.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Before any material change to how we use content you have already synced, we will notify account holders.
